A Lot of people ask why I do this charity or why I have started it so this is why going back to the 30th of september 2010. I was at work on my way back from Birmingham when my phone rang. It was my daughter's school saying that Olivia had an asthma attack and that she was okay and wanted to stay at school. About half an hour later the school rang me again and said they were getting an ambulance out to olivia. Lucky enough I was not that far away from high wycombe. I quickly drove my truck home to change quickly into my car. Once I got to the school I saw that my wife was already there. She had tears in her eyes. I then walked up the stairs and there was Olivia laid on the floor with a member of the ambulance team giving her CPR and pumping all they could into her body. They were trying for what seemed like hours to bring her back round but sadly they had no luck in bringing her back round as she wasn't responding to anything. At that point I realised that my little girl was not going to make it. That was one of the worst and hardest days of my and my family's life that had ever happened to us in 8 years.
Me and my family then decided we were going to start to raise money for child bereavement and asthma uk that had helped us through so much in a short amount of time. But then i thought it was about time we started our own charity in aid of olivia and we called it LIFE IS LIKE BUTTERFLY as to us it had such a meaning behind it as its what olivia used to say it when she lost her grandad it had a meaning behind it that one moment you are here and the next you are gone. We have been in contact with Haven holiday homes in Hastings and they are happy to help us with a holiday home and would love to be part of it. The lowest would be £15.000 - £30.000. We are trying to raise this money to get a holiday home but it is very hard. The reason we would love to get a holiday home is because we would like to help families who have lost a loved one to help them build a connection back with in the family
So if anyone could help in any way we would be more than grateful for the help and support we would receive
